OpenEdge 11 Administrator ($900 USD/user/year)

Welcome to the OpenEdge 11 Administrator learning path. This path includes tracks to help you grow your DBA skills from basic to advanced. You can practice the concepts taught in each course with hands-on exercises, complete with step-by-step guidance and solutions. You can assess your knowledge with in-course Check Your Understanding questions. You can also demonstrate your skills with assessment exams for key courses.

OpenEdge Database Core: In this track, you learn the fundamentals of the Progress OpenEdge database and the two OpenEdge application servers (PAS for OpenEdge and the classic Application Server). You also learn how to perform key database administration tasks, and manage and monitor the databases and application servers. You are introduced to advanced database administration concepts as well as the principles of database performance tuning.

Advanced Enterprise Features: In this track, you continue your DBA journey by learning how to manage and monitor Progress OpenEdge. You learn how to implement key features, like Change Data Capture (CDC) and table partitioning.  Extend your knowledge further by learning how to administer multi-tenant databases and implement OpenEdge replication for high availability. You also learn how to secure your data with transparent data encryption.

OpenEdge Application Server Administration: In this track, you learn how to use the Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PAS for OpenEdge) to create, configure, and run a PAS for OpenEdge instance in a development and production environment.  You also learn to manage an OpenEdge AppServer and to configure application-specific settings for an AppServer. You learn to implement load balancing and fault tolerance in an AppServer environment, as well as to implement AppServer security. Finally, you will learn how to monitor an AppServer.
